From inception Newlife Paints have worked to a set of core values:

  • Respect and concern for the environment.
  • A desire to make a difference.
  • A commitment to quality, customer service and value for money

Newlife Paints is a progressive company.  We take pride in the professional and bespoke service we offer our customers, and the friendly, supportive atmosphere in our offices and factory.

How it all started:

In 2002, the first seeds of an idea began to take root in the mind of Industrial Chemist, Keith Harrison. Like many of us, his garage was becoming a little unruly, and his wife Linda began ‘gently requesting’ a clear out. Keith rightly saw the stacked up tins of paint as a shocking waste. Unfortunately for Linda, the wall of paint tins diverted Keith’s enquiring mind from the task in hand, and the search began for a sensible and environmentally responsible solution to waste paint. Keith thought somebody must be recycling it.

As it turns out no one was, and Keith set about finding a way to reprocess waste paint back to a superior grade emulsion. After two years of research, Keith successfully developed the process that converted waste emulsion paint back to a premium quality, commercial grade, paint.

Newlife Paints Ltd was born in 2008. Our product, Newlife Paint, now backed by Sussex Business Partnership, launched to market at the end of 2009. In the first year of production, Newlife reprocessed approx 100 plus tons of waste paint. This figure is significant when you consider DEFRA’s estimation that approximately 50 million litres of paint are headed for landfill or incineration each year.  With production and sales growing Newlife Paints Ltd are increasing the amount of waste paint reclaimed year on year.

Interior and exterior grade emulsion is now the core product for Newlife Paints, but the research and development phase is by no means over. Products in the pipeline include, wood undercoat and primer, satin and gloss and fence paints. Watch this space!

nb: Keith’s garage never did get cleared out!
